Geothermal pipes and air-energy floor heating machines
Jul 26, 2024
Times are changing, and floor heating is also improving. In previous years, when talking about air-energy floor heating, the first thing that came to many people's minds was the complex pipes. In recent years, a new type of air-energy floor heating with air-energy floor heating machines as the core has gradually emerged.
Simply put, traditional air-energy floor heating refers to air-energy heat pumps + geothermal pipes. And the new type of air-energy floor heating refers to an air-energy heat pump + air-energy floor heating machine. At present, several air-energy companies have put a large number of air-energy floor heating machines on the market, setting off a new wave of air-energy floor heating. One new and one old, what is the difference between the two?
1. Heating comfort
Geothermal pipes are widely used in the north. Most people who have used geothermal pipe heating are impressed by this comfortable heating solution. Because the pipes are installed under the floor, they do not occupy the family space, and can effectively extend to every corner and cover most of the family space. Hot water flows continuously in the geothermal pipes, and the heat is evenly distributed, so it is very comfortable.
Air-energy floor heating can provide household heating, and the heating area can be manually controlled for flexible heating. Moreover, because the floor heating machine converts hot water into hot air, the air outlet is not dry, which is more comfortable than common air conditioning heating. In addition, the floor heating machine blows air from the ground, giving priority to warming the lower body. Although the heating experience is different from pipe floor heating, the heating effect is not bad.
2. Economic efficiency of heating
In addition to comfort, the more important factor in judging whether a heating method is good or not is the investment of money. Although geothermal pipeline heating is good, it is necessary to lay a floor heating layer at home. There are pipes and valves in the floor heating layer, and there are manifolds outside the floor heating layer. Add to that the cost of purchasing air-energy heat pump equipment, and the total cost remains high.
Let's talk about air-energy floor heating. Common air-energy floor heating machines are not very expensive. Overall, the cost of this solution is probably less than half of geothermal pipeline heating. In terms of economy, air-energy floor heating is better.
3. Difficulty in installing the heating system
Due to the large number of components in the piping system, the installation is relatively complicated. Whether it is the traditional wet method or the dry method, professionals are required to operate and install it. From laying the floor heating pipes to connecting with the valves, the entire process has a long construction period, high difficulty, and is very troublesome.
Compared with geothermal pipes, the installation of air-energy floor heating machines is much more convenient. The size of an air-energy floor heating machine is similar to that of an ordinary electric heater and can be installed anywhere in the home. After selecting the location of the floor heating machine, install the cold and hot water pipes, connect the floor heating machine to the air-energy heat pump, and you can achieve residential heating.
The two options have their advantages and disadvantages. You can choose according to your actual needs.
