Compressor, the four major components of air energy

May 15, 2024

The most important component in an air-source water heater is the compressor.
During the operation of the unit, after the refrigerant absorbs low-temperature heat in the air through the evaporator and vaporizes, it must be continuously pressurized and heated under the compression of the compressor to generate high-temperature heat energy to heat the water temperature. This shows its important position in air-energy water heaters, so the compressor is also called the "heart" of air-energy water heaters. In order to achieve better heating effects, air-energy water heaters have also experienced a major "heart-changing" process since their birth.

Because the operating principle of air-energy water heaters is similar to that of air conditioners, the compressor of air-energy water heaters directly used conventional air-conditioning compressors at the beginning of their invention, which can meet consumers' basic hot water needs. However, with the continuous development of the functions of air-source water heaters and the increasing market share, especially in the north, air-conditioning compressors have begun to appear "powerless" when faced with the demands of heating, drying, and other working conditions. Although air-energy water heaters and air conditioners both operate on the reverse Carnot principle, their operating methods are still very different. The running time of the air energy water heater system is much longer than that of the air conditioner. We generally use air conditioners in the summer, but water heaters are used every day throughout the year, especially in winter, which run longer. According to statistics, air-energy water heaters will consume 2/3 of their service life in winter. Because the outlet water temperature of the heat pump is above 55 degrees, the water tank temperature will drop with use. When it drops to about 45 degrees, the compressor needs to start running, so the compressor basically runs in an area with a higher condensation temperature. The condensing temperature is the main factor affecting the life of the compressor. Under the same operating time, the comprehensive load on the compressor in the heat pump water heater is much higher than that of the compressor in the air conditioner. The main motivations for consumers to buy heat pump water heaters are energy saving and convenience. As a result, consumers will use more water, which also increases the working time of the heat pump. If the heat pump water heater is used for heating plus domestic hot water, it may run for a long time throughout the heating season. Based on the above factors, air-conditioning compressors are far from meeting the operating requirements of air-energy water heaters. Now most air-energy water heaters have adopted heat pump-specific compressors. This "tailor-made" air-energy water heater "Heart" will be better able to ensure its stable and efficient operation.

However, compared with air conditioning compressors, heat pump compressors are relatively noisy. Therefore, in the past few years, the loud noise of air-source water heaters was also one of the areas where users complained. In order to reduce noise, merchants seal the compressor and then cover the unit casing with a layer of sound-absorbing cotton, which can greatly reduce noise. In addition, the noise may also be caused by unprofessional installation. For example, the outdoor unit is unbalanced, and the copper pipe of the working medium collides with the casing during operation, causing resonance, or causing the internal fan to bump, thereby producing harsh noises. It is very important to do a good job of shockproofing and shock-absorbing during installation. The rigid pipes of the main machine should use spring vibration-absorbing brackets to prevent the pipes from transmitting vibrations to the building. The unit is flexibly connected to the hot water outlet pipe, circulating water pipe, and tap water inlet pipe to prevent vibration from being transmitted from the unit to the water pipes. If it is an all-in-one machine, choose a horizontal position that can support the weight of the air source water heater without increasing noise and vibration. The air-energy water heater should be placed as far away from the room as possible, or a sound insulation screen should be installed between it and the adjacent room, but it should be noted that the sound insulation screen should not hinder the circulation of air.
