Evaporator, the four major components of air energy
May 16, 2024
Air energy water heaters are mainly composed of the "four major parts": expansion valve, evaporator, compressor, and condenser.
The evaporator of an air source water heater is the most critical component to absorb heat energy from the air. The refrigerant is throttled and depressurized by the expansion valve, and the temperature after it is ejected is very low. When passing through the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs the heat in the air through the copper tubes and fins and takes the absorbed heat with it to cool the air. The agent then enters the compressor for the next cycle. In air-energy water heaters, the evaporator is mainly fin type and is a dry evaporator. The fin forms used in evaporators include flat fins, corrugated fins, louvers, and bridge fins. Different forms have different heat transfer capabilities. The stronger the heat transfer capability, the greater the wind resistance.
Of course, the heat exchange capacity of the evaporator is not only related to the form of the fins but also to the cleanliness of its surface. If the air-energy water heater is compared to a person, the evaporator is equivalent to the human lungs or the pores of the skin. It achieves the heating effect by exchanging heat with the outside gas. We all know that if a lot of dust particles are inhaled into the lungs or the pores are clogged, it will hinder the flow of gas and affect body functions and must be cleaned and treated. In the same way, during the long-term operation of the air-energy water heater, due to the adsorption of internal static electricity and the continuous circulation of airflow in the space, floating dust, smoke, body odor, alkali, amines, viruses, bacteria, etc. in the environment will Foreign matter will be adsorbed on the evaporator surface. At the same time, because the fins of the evaporator in air-source water heaters are often in a moist state, they are prone to breed algae, accumulate dirt, block drainage pipes and evaporator fins, causing the heat absorption effect of the evaporator to deteriorate, ultimately affecting the efficiency of the unit and even A malfunction occurs. Therefore, in-depth maintenance and cleaning of air-energy water heaters must be carried out regularly.
The installation position of the evaporator of different styles of air energy water heaters is different. Generally speaking, the evaporator of a split air energy water heater is installed on the side of the main unit, while the all-in-one machine is installed on the top of the unit. After finding the installation location of the evaporator, should I start cleaning it? Don't forget to turn off the power before cleaning to prevent safety accidents. Cleaning the evaporator is roughly divided into three steps. First, for heavier dirt and dirt on the fins of the air energy evaporator, use a fine soft brush to gently brush it off, and for those hairs that are difficult to clean, use a vacuum cleaner to remove them; then use a nozzle-type cleaner to clean the evaporator When cleaning the fins of the evaporator, you must pay attention to cleaning from top to bottom in the direction of the fins, and spray evenly from left to right back and forth onto the fins of the evaporator to ensure that the cleaning foam completely covers the surface of the evaporator; After cleaning, rinse the entire evaporator with clean water.
