Disadvantages of air-energy water heaters
Jan 29, 2025
1. It is easily affected by the surrounding air environment. When the weather is cold and the ambient temperature is low, the amount of hot water produced will be slightly reduced. Especially at -10℃, it is easy to frost, and below -20℃, the unit will stop working. The problem of defrosting is a difficult problem that needs to be solved urgently.
2. The air-energy water heater is relatively large and requires installation on the ground or roof, which has higher requirements for the home environment.
3. The compressor is easy to burn out. At present, the air-energy water heaters on the market generally use a circulating heating system. When operating under high temperatures and high pressure, it is easy to cause the compressor to age and carbonize. If the system lubrication effect is not good, it is easy to cause the compressor to burn out.
4. Heat exchangers and shell and tube heat exchangers are prone to scaling and breaking because the outlet water temperature of the air-to-water heater can reach 50-60°C. Water is most susceptible to scaling within this temperature range. If the heat exchanger is not cleaned regularly, the plate heat exchanger will swell and burst, and the inner tube of the shell and tube heat exchanger will rupture, causing the entire unit to lose function.
