What is an air-cooled modular cooling (heating) water unit?

Dec 21, 2023

Simply put, an air-cooled module is a freely combinable air-cooled hot water unit that can both cool and heat. Taking refrigeration mode as an example, we know that air conditioning units have four major components, including an evaporator for heat absorption and a condenser for heat dissipation. An air-cooled chiller unit is a unit where the condenser is cooled by air, and the evaporator absorbs the heat of water to provide cold water to the outside. After the heat pump conversion, the unit can provide hot water to the outside.
In heating mode, the original condenser is converted to an evaporator to absorb the heat of the air and blow out cold air, while the original evaporator is converted to a condenser to provide hot water to the outside.
When the air conditioning capacity of a unit cannot meet the requirements, several more units can be added, and then the return and supply pipes can be connected separately to form a main return pipe and a main supply pipe, which is a modular combination. Equivalent to combining multiple small units into one large unit.
The chilled water from the unit is transported to the fan coil units in each room. After absorbing the heat of the room air, the water temperature rises and then gathers in the main return pipe. The return water is transported to the return water outlet of the unit using a chilled water pump. After being cooled by the evaporator, it is converted back into chilled water and transported out. In this way, the circulation can continuously absorb the heat of the room, thereby reducing the air temperature in the room.
