Does The Air Energy Heat Pump Consume A Lot Of Electricity?
Feb 16, 2025
In order to save electricity and be comfortable, many people have specially bought air energy heat pump water heaters or air energy heating equipment. But some people found that the air energy heat pump is not energy-saving, but also consumes electricity. Why is this the case? Whether the air energy heat pump is energy-saving or not is related to the quality of the equipment itself and the usage habits.
1. The heating temperature of the air energy heat pump is set too high in winter
In winter, the weather is cold, and the operating efficiency of the air energy equipment will naturally be affected to a certain extent, especially in the north. If you insist on high requirements, the air energy heat pump heating temperature is set to 25℃ or even higher, and the air energy heat pump sometimes cannot reach that temperature. Generally speaking, the appropriate temperature of the heating environment is between 16~22℃. If the temperature is set too high, the air energy heat pump will run at a high load 24 hours a day, and the power consumption will naturally increase rapidly.
2. The air energy heat pump is continuously turned on in summer
Household air energy water heaters are storage water heaters, which are generally intelligent heating. If you set the water temperature to 50℃, then when the water in the water tank is below 50℃ for more than a certain value, the heat pump will start heating automatically. However, water is usually used at only one-time point at home, and you cannot need hot water all the time. Frequent and meaningless heating operation of the air-energy water heater will increase power loss, so it is not surprising that the power consumption is high.
